CH56 Ministry is the ministry for 5th and 6th grade students at Colonial Hills Baptist Church. It designed to be a transition time from children to young men and women. Instead of students at this age getting a couple weeks to transition, we are able to have 2 years with them to walk through the drastic life changes that they are starting to experience; emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
We constantly stress that as a group of 5th and 6th grade students, we are a part of the entire church here at Colonial Hills and are also a part of the universal Church on earth. We also believe ourselves to a be family; this means that just like a normal family, sometimes we can bug each other, but at the end of the day, we are still family and love one another.
Vision
Our vision is to Be One, Make One; this means to be a disciple of Jesus, while making disciples of Jesus. Students and preteens are not given a “junior-varsity” or preteen Holy Spirit. Being in Christ, they are fully equipped and empowered to fulfill the Great Commission to make disciples of all nations; this includes the world, our nation, state, city and even schools, families, and neighborhoods.
Focus
Our focus is to get our 5th and 6th graders to understand what their life in Christ is and what it means to be a disciple of the Lord. In a time when students are beginning to discover what type of person they really are, the 56 ministry is a safe place to learn and discover whom they truly are in Christ and what that means.
